The practice

Olga Krasanova’s work explores human relationships, intimacy and the quiet absurdities of everyday life. Through printmaking, drawing and colour, simplified figures become carriers of gesture and emotion — embracing, hiding, observing, and finding their place in the space between solitude and togetherness.

About the artist

Stories in
small gestures.

Originally from Siberia, Olga Krasanova is an artist and printmaker whose practice connects Scotland and Spain. Her work moves between linocut, woodcut, etching and painting, drawing stories from people, nature and everyday encounters. A glance, an embrace or an outstretched hand can become the beginning of a whole scene.

She studied at Central Saint Martins in London. In her prints, bold silhouettes and intricate patterns hold humour and tenderness together, leaving room for the viewer’s own associations.
